Young Women's Initiative

Our Young Women’s Initiative

Our Young Women’s Initiative provides enrichment opportunities for Paterson girls ages 13-19 with support from the Eleanor Stinton Mills Memorial Fund through NJ Community Foundation. Each year PEF receives about $9,000 from the Fund to support young women who are striving for success.

You can nominate young women to receive up to $1,000 in support of enrichment activities. Enrichment activities can include summer camp, summer enrichment courses, SAT prep or other experiences. Get an application here.

In addition, PEF sponsors Girls United for the Earth (GUFE), an environmental science club for young women. In March 2008, GUFE made its second trip to Grenada to study leatherback turtles and mangrove reforestration.
