Kids who read, succeed. It’s true.

And we should all encourage our children to read. To encourage reading, Paterson Public Schools, the Paterson Free Public Library and PEF are partners in the Paterson 50 Book Club.

Each year, Paterson school library media specialists help children keep track of their reading. Each child who reads 50 books is honored on 50 Book Club Day on the first Thursday in June at the Paterson Free Public Library. 50 Book Club members receive a certificate, personalized stickers, bookmarks and a poster with all the winners of that year.

In 2007, more than 1,776 children read 50 books or more. Click here to see the 50 Book Club winners poster for 2007.
